Twitter chats are a great networking tools & they’re fun too!

For those who don’t know, a Twitter chat is a conversation held at a specific time on Twitter, usually moderated by a single account & easily marked by a hashtag.

There are hundreds, if not thousands, of Twitter chats going on weekly or monthly. That, in addition to the sheer volume of tweets flying around, it’s easy to get overwhelmed! Here are my top five Twitter chats for PR pros.

1. #NPPRSA
   Hosted by PRSA’s New Professionals Section, this chat focuses on all things important to new PR pros.
   When: Wednesdays, frequency TBA. Topics are announced ahead of time.
2. #PRSSA
   This is one I always kept an eye out for as a PR student. Lots of valuable information each month for aspiring PR pros. Keep an eye out for upcoming dates & topics.
   When: Tuesdays, monthly, 9 p.m. EST.
3. #PRStudChat
   PRStudChat is a community that has evolved from a single question “Is PR right for me?” This chat connects students, educators and pros each month.
   When: Monthly, schedule can be found here. Topics are announced ahead of time.
4. #PRProChat
   Moderated by Carrie Morgan, PRProChat is a great resource for new and seasoned pros alike. Topics range from SEO to content curation to social media and beyond!
   When: First Thursday of each month. Topics are announced ahead of time.
5. #createlounge
   Last but surely not least, my personal favorite, #createlounge. Hosted by Kayla Hollatz, this weekly chat is centered around six questions on a single topic and gives bloggers, PR pros and just about anyone who is interested a chance to connect with likeminded people and bounce ideas off one another.
   When: Every Wednesday at 8 p.m. EST.  Topics are announced ahead of time.
