Updates: Outside the Internet
Spring has officially sprung, PR girls!
I can’t believe how busy I’ve been in the past month! I had plans and posts that I wanted to get rolling, but alas, that hasn’t been the case. There’s been so much going on with work and life, and unfortunately the blog has taken a bit of a backseat.
To recap, in the last month I’ve:
- Been to NYC for a tradeshow (and a bit of a visit)
- Gone home for a quick visit
- Joined PRSA (ok, that was February, but I started really getting involved in the last month!)
- Travelled to D.C. (for the second time in 5 months!)
- Been focusing a bit more on professional development.
- Been reading and exploring and enjoying the gorgeous weather!
So maybe the weather hasn’t been so fantastic this week where I am, but rain always relaxes me and helps me to refocus, so I’m not upset. As you can see, the past month has kind of been a whirlwind.
I’ve travelled to both NYC and DC this month, DC somewhat on a whim, and focused on exploring what was in front of me, consciously making the effort to not take photos. Visiting home, I also put the phone away and focused on being home.
Professional development has also been a big focus of mine recently. Joining PRSA was the first step in that for me this year. I didn’t want to just join to join, but I really wanted to get involved and make the most of being a member.
That being said, I’m happy to announce that I’ve begun writing for PRSA’s New Professionals blog, The Edge, once a month and, as of this week, I’ve taken on the role of Social Media & Publicity Co-Chair for PRSA Pittsburgh, meaning that I’m going to be working a lot on building the chapter’s blog and promoting it. I’m really excited and can’t wait to get started!
I hope all you PR girls are as busy, excited and productive as I am this spring!
