#FridayFive: Job Search Resources
Job (and internship) searching is hard. Looking for jobs takes forever, applying for jobs takes even longer. Then there’s waiting to hear back about your applications, following up with your applications, waiting to schedule interviews and then waiting back for an offer. No one realizes it, but looking and applying for jobs is a full-time job in itself!
These are my top five sites to search for jobs.
Top Five Job Search Resources
1. Indeed
Indeed is good for any job search because it pulls from all over the web and you can search for just about anything anywhere. The downside to it is that you sometimes end up with a bunch of jobs just containing the words you searched for, but it might not be what you were looking for.
2. Media Bistro
Media Bistro is great because it’s only media jobs. I especially like how easily you can filter your search to find exactly what you’re looking for. Searching by industry, location and company are my favorite ways.
3. PRSA Job Board
PRSA has a fantastic job board that is primarily just PR, which is great for PR pros. And it’s not a free job board, so these places are serious about hiring and finding a good fit.
4. LinkedIn Jobs
Yes, that networking social network is a perfect place to look for jobs. Many recruiters will post jobs there and you can usually apply with your LinkedIn profile, so it’s like killing two birds with one stone.
5. Talent Zoo
Talent Zoo is a great job search resource for anyone working or looking to work in any creative field. Lots of jobs all over the country. In addition to jobs, there are plenty of resources for anyone looking for a job.
