#FridayFive – Valentine’s Day edition

Friday Five

It’s Valentine’s Day weekend and if, like me, you don’t have plans with your loved one, it’s the perfect time to spoil yourself a bit!

There are plenty of things that you can do to celebrate & love yourself this weekend. Here are a few of my favorites.

Five solo things to do on Valentine’s Day

1. Treat yourself to a spa day
Whether you go to a spa or turn your home into one, pampering yourself can make you feel like a whole new person. Get a mani-pedi, a massage, a facial, a haircut or give yourself an at-home treatment – whatever will make you feel good and relaxed is perfect!

2. Spend time just on you
Part of loving yourself is loving to spend time just with yourself. Spend a few hours, a day, the whole weekend if you’d like, doing what you like to do. Maybe you like to peruse the mall, read, binge on Netflix, cook yourself a fantastic meal – whatever you like to do that makes you happy – go do it for as long as you’d like.

3. Plan a date out just for you
Some may find going out alone strange, but it can be fun! Get yourself dressed up and take yourself out to dinner at your favorite restaurant, a show, a movie, or a party. Taking yourself out on the town is a fantastic way to spend an evening.

4. Plan a night in just for you
I don’t know about you, but usually when I stay in by myself, I attempt to do work or clean or a myriad of other totally not relaxing or fun things. Instead, I’m going to take a night, order dinner in and spend some time just hanging out.

5. Do something you wouldn’t normally do
Sometimes stepping outside your comfort zone can be fun! Take a cooking, painting or dance class, do improv, go out to a bar you’ve never been to, become a dog walker or cat cuddler for your local humane society – all of these are fun options that may turn into a fun new hobby. You never know until you try it.

What are your Valentine’s Day, solo or coupled?
